Walk and Cruise in Amsterdam

Combine your Medieval Amsterdam Tour with a boat cruise in the Amsterdam canals. After a 2 hour walk in the historical heart of the city we board an open electric boat for a relaxing 70 minute cruise. This walk and cruise gives you the opportunity to discover Amsterdam both on foot and in from the water.

‘Best of Amsterdam’ orientation walk

Your private guide will meet you at the Amsterdam Central Station. From this former harbor front we walk into the centuries old alleys and streets. We visit a medieval courtyard and pass over 500 years old city gates.

Courtyards

With your private guide you will discover the quiet side of Amsterdam. In the many secluded courtyards hides an oasis of tranquility. How does this tradition of affordable housing ring on in Amsterdam today?

Canal Cruise

After this walk back in time we board a fully equipped electric open boat. We share the boat with other passengers and the drinks aboard are included. The boat also has a toilet aboard. Your guide will accompany you on the cruise and tell you all the ins and outs of the historical canal ring.

What better way to discover the Amsterdam canals than on a boat?

  • star rating  We made this tour as we prefered to get a more real-live impression of Rembrandt than just looking at his paintings in the Rijksmuseum. And Tijs fullfilled this expectation absolutely.... read more Even if the city looks pretty different today and not all buildings are existing anymore his storytelling makes the 17th century getting back to life before your eyes. He shares a lot of knowledge and you recognize that he is really into his topic and loves to share that.

  • star rating  WW2 history isn’t new to me - I’m of the age that I have had the privilege to have met veterans, victims and witnesses of this horrible era in world... read more events. However, I am relatively new to life here in the Netherlands and wanted to learn of their time in this period and must say this tour by Tijs was excellent in every way.
His attitude to the events that took place in Amsterdam was respectful, clear, concise and truthful - the latter part painfully so. I wont spoil his details but we ended the tour in a very solemn place which totally tied all of his previous comments and explanations to the grim reality. So glad to have taken this tour.

Absolutely recommended, I have no doubt he will be an essential part of my tours!
